Problems to overcome

Hi there,
This week was a quite one as we had to fix a few problems with the van. I was always told we don't have problems ,only solutions.

Well in fixing one solution I found two more. We had a small leak where the awning is attached to the van.
Before we could start on that we had to take the annex down first, then roll up the awning.
But in rolling it in, I discovered the rollup spring had broked. It only got worse from there.  After some time and a lot of words  I had fixed it all. Note: when buying a van that comes with an annex, get them to put it up, to see if it all fits together and how easy it is to erect.

HINT OF THE WEEK:

If you have a toilet in your van there is a good chance it will be a chemical toilet. There are a lot of different products on the market, but we have found the best one so far is "ODOUR-B-GONE". They are in tablet form, you can get quick or slow release. The benefit being easy storage and if you drop a tablet on your floor/carpet it is easy to clean up the mess, try that with a liquid.

Love what you do and do what you love.

Hi there,

Well we most certainly had an interesting week. During the week we enjoyed a visitor from home, but unfortunatly it was the one night of the week where we go dancing. So we took him with us!!!!! Afterwoods we had a lovely dinner at 'the Young Australian'. Following that we then went to the QRI hall where anyone who wishes to sing with a backing band can give it a go. As a follow up to last weekend at the country festival we were able to put a lot more names to faces that night.

On the weekend we went home for a working bee on the yard and house. Saturday morning I went milking cows with a friend. I enjoy milking every now and then, I guess because it is not my full time job, and I am there because I want to be. Time out with good friends and back to nature. We achived alot at home, caught up with family and friends, in general was a very productive weekend.

HINT OF THE WEEK

LIGHTS: Travelling at night on the road you come across many cars/trucks that have a faulty light. It only takes a few minutes to check that your lights are in working order. It could even save you money, no one wants to be given a defective notice. I check the lights on car and caravan everytime I hook up before we start a trip. To check brake lights, get the assistance of someone to help.

Cheers and happy and safe travels.

The people you meet along the way

Hi there,

The weekend of the 12th and 13th  of February we did not go away, but we did experience the best Country Music Festival in Gladstone. Jacqui was asked to take the photos for the 3rd annual festival which
runs for two full days in February each year. The contestants came from all over the country and were very impressive. The Juvenile Vocal and the Junior Vocal showed us that there is some great talent coming up in the wings. The Judges put on a concert on Saturday night are all entertainers in their own right, and can most certainly sing and/or play a guitar. The whole night was lively, and with a few very funny skits thrown in.
The whole festival was broadcast live on livestream and messages were coming in from different viewers all over Australia. It was a great weekend overall and we meet and made alot of new friends. There were approx 350 people attended and next year will most certainly be bigger.

Another Day in our Travels

Hi Everyone,
Well it has been awhile, and we have covered a few miles.

On Australia Day we started off with a  long walk on one of the local walking tracks (just to see where it ended). All was good till we came across rubbish that really spoiled the look of a very quite and peaceful setting. Black swans, ducks, bird life. The walk took us 1 1/2 hours, so was a good work out.
Friends invited us around for an all Australian BBQ lunch, complete with water booms to help cool off. Good time was had by all.

On the subject of rubbish being dumped........ it was not dumped more like dropped and it was not rubbish but my mobile phone into 15 metres of sea water. All my numbers and photos are at the bottom of the sea. so if you ring my phone and I don't answer, you now know why!!!!!  but good news I will have another phone soon.

Work in progress.   Hot sun over looking the beautiful ocean, but somone has to do it.

HINT OF THE WEEK

Just about everything we buy today comes in packaging of some type. Wheather we are in the car, boat or just walking, If you have an empty container of some sort and throw it away, it then becomes someone elses promlem, or ends up in the wrong place eg. parks, water ways, ocean.
So next time you go to throw away rubbish, keep it till you are able to put it to the rubbish bins provided.
KEEP AUSTRALIA BEAUTIFUL
